Job description

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We are looking for a proven product practitioner with a strong grasp of the fundamentals and experience putting them into action to drive real, measurable impact.
  • We value a user-centred approach, with the needs of the people we are building for as the North Star.
  • We need someone strategically minded who can connect user needs, business goals, and delivery realities.
  • We are looking for a strong storyteller who can make the complex simple and craft compelling narratives that bring others with them.
  • We value emotional intelligence, including the ability to read a room, build trust, and navigate disagreement with respect.
  • We need someone adaptable who thrives in ambiguity, brings structure where there is none, and can onboard quickly.
  • We are looking for an accountable person who makes tough calls, holds themselves and others to account, and is not afraid to say no to ensure a product succeeds.
  • We value someone who can act as a multiplier and drive teams forward while making everyone around them better.
  • Experience working within SFIA and DDaT frameworks is desirable, but not essential.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead with vision by setting a clear direction and reinforcing it through team discussions, planning sessions, and stakeholder updates.
  • Frame problems before solutions by continuously discovering, asking the right questions, and ensuring the team is solving the right problem.
  • Champion the user by bringing real user insight into every conversation and decision, shaping priorities and trade-offs.
  • Collaborate openly across design, engineering, data, and policy as true problem-solving partners.
  • Facilitate with purpose by running workshops and meetings that lead to clear decisions and shared understanding.
  • Drive progress by taking ownership and ensuring the team gets over the line.
  • Deliver with integrity by doing the right thing, including having difficult conversations when needed, so we can proudly stand behind our work.
  • Own the organisational roadmap by planning, prioritising, and communicating across many teams simultaneously.
  • Surface and resolve cross-organisational dependencies and make sequencing decisions when priorities compete.
  • Govern suppliers and partners by influencing organisations we do not control and resolving tensions constructively.
  • Navigate difficult conversations across civil servant teams, operational stakeholders, and other suppliers with tact.
  • Shape and secure incoming work by spotting high-value opportunities, crafting compelling propositions, and shaping the team needed to win and deliver great work.
